Denver Nugget Player of the Month
A list of past winners, as voted on by you, the fan.
January 2007 MVP:
His numbers will never throw anybody back in their seats but his intangible value continues to impress nuggets nation. Eddie is, in essence, the old faithful of all Nuggets personel. No matter how things are going in the standings, you never have to question wether or not Eddie is going to give it 110%. He plays at such a high level all the time. Indeed, Eddie knows only one mode: balls out. Throughout his NBA career, Eddie has made his living on being the guy willing to do all the little things. But he does so many of the little things that, combined, they make Eddie's impact on the team as important as any of his fellow team mates. He is the consumate professional and one of the nicest guys on and off the court. What most people don't realize are the many facets of Najera's game that go so unnoticed. Arguably, he is one of the most underrated players in the league. His basketball IQ is emmence. Things like setting the right kind of screen, court spacing, defencive switching and overall awarness on both ends of the court make Eddie the smartest of all Nuggets. You can label him a "role player", but in actuality he is much more of a vital cog in the Nuggets roatation (making 32 starts in the Nuggets first 46 games). More like a super role player. In a month of transition for this team, Eddie Najera stood out by doing what he has always done - and what he will assuredly continue to do.
