Mike Wilks Returns To Lineup
Point Guard Ready to Play Following Hamstring Injury
For a guy who was unemployed a few weeks ago, Mike Wilks has established his value at a surprising rate. The 5th year point guard will return to the Nuggets lineup tonight when the Nuggets face off against the Portland Trailblazers (7pm, Pepsi Center, Alt.). Wilks had missed the last five games with a hamstring injury. The weight of the injury bug, that has aggressively attacked the Nuggets back court, will feel a little less cumbersome with the return of Wilks George Karl's bench. In three games before the injury, Wilks was a solid contributor, averaging over 15 minuets per night. With Wilks being on the shelf, J.R. Smith has seen extra duty at the point guard spot, a stint that has impressed many onlookers. It is not clear right now how George Karl will alter his lineup now that Wilks is ready to go. The Nuggets are expecting injured guard, Anthony Carter, to return from a broken hand injury some time next week.
